I am honoured to address the processional community associated with textiles through the first issue of TEXtalks. part from stats and figures, it has long been established that the textile industry is indeed the strongest link in our conomic chain.

In the current era of globalization, it has become our need to inculcate in our textile professionals the need to acquaint themselves with the global trends. In this regard, the Government has made efforts to make sure our country does not fall behind in this race. Greater efforts have been made to ensure Pakistan's economic growth. With our efforts, we are now in the process of attracting a greater number of investors from all parts of the world.

In the targets we have laid before us, we need continuous effort, planning and hard work. We have to adapt to the environment of today's world. Hard work along with sincerity and devotion are the key elements that ensure success. But no success is greater than that in which the entire nation joins hands.

Ultimate success can be achieved when the Government and the people together make these efforts. I am delighted to know that this magazine :rims to serve as a medium for bridging the gaps present between Pakistan and the rest of the world with regard to the exchange of knowledge, technology and areas related to textiles.
