It is my pleasure to address the textile sector through the inaugural issue of the TEXtalks. It is a matter of great pride for every Pakistani to witness the sector broadening its horizons globally by undertaking ventures such as this magazine, which I hope will acquaint the local textile industry with its global counterpart, and hence inculcate a trend to move efficiently with the global needs and demands.In this era of globalization, it is imperative that we as a nation move forward in the global race. The present government has always made it a priority to ensure the economic growth of the country. During the last seven years, we have established a record growth in exports and revenues; we have accomplished much and look forward to achieving still greater success in the future.

In our struggle for economic stability and growth, we have worked with sincerity and devotion, concentrating our efforts for one purpose. That purpose rests in the hearts of all individuals of this nation. We are glad to see our vision turns into a reality. The country has come a long way on the road to economic growth and stability, but we must not rest on our laurels, but continue our efforts with added zeal and determination.

The textile sector undoubtedly is a major reason for the current boost in our economy. With the reign of WTO in place, we hope our textile sector reforms to suit the demands of a rapidly growing and demanding global market. The government will always support them in their endeavor.
