National Textile University - An Overview

National Textile University (NTU), Pakistan Introduces following programes with the collaboration of Technical University of Liberec (TUL)

MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMME
Masters degree programme will be launched by NTU in August 2008 in collaboration with TUL. The degree shall be awarded by NTU as per guidelines of HEC for Masters degree programme. The Masters degree programme shall be of two years. The students shall study at NTU for the first and second semester and at TUL for the third and fourth semester. NTU shall offer a total number of 6 courses (18 credits) while 3±'b11 courses (9±'b13 credits) plus research (6 credits) shall be done at TUL. The student shall be sent to TUL at exchange students. For research projects, there will be two supervisors, one each from NTU and TUL.

PhD PROGRAMME
Students having Masters degree shall be eligible to be enrolled in PhD at TUL. If the students enrol their PhD at there, the degree shall be awarded by TUL provided the students successfully meet their degree requirements. If a student enrolled his/her PhD at NTU, the latter shall award the PhD degree provided the students successfully meet the PhD degree requirements laid down by NTU as per HEC guidelines. For PhD research projects at NTU, there will be two supervisors, one each from NTU and TUL.

FACULTY EXCHANGE
The faculty members at TUL shall come to NTU to teach any undergraduate or graduate level course on NTU's request. NTU shall pay for the tickets and maintenance of the TUL faculty in Pakistan as well as pay an honorarium. Similarly, NTU faculty shall also be able to visit TUL to exchange knowledge/expertise.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
An international conference on "Emerging Trends in Textiles" shall be arranged by NTU in Faisalabad, in collaboration with TUL in May 2008.

TECHNICAL SEMINARS
One-Day Technical Seminars in Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi Chambers of Commerce shall be arranged by TUL in collaboration with NTU. The target audience of these seminars will be Pakistani Textile Entrepreneurs and the objective will be to create awareness among them about the value-added opportunities and emerging technologies in textiles.

SHORT COURSES
Short courses of 6-weeks duration shall be arranged at TUL for technical managers in Pakistani textile industry. NTU shall help market these courses for TUL.
